Does "fix dinner " have the same meaning as " make dinner"?

And not only dinner- you can fix a drink for someone.

Note that we don't use it in BrE. We generally only use "fix" to mean "repair" or "to predetermine the outcome of something that should be down to luck, chance or skill".
