Hello, teachers. I have a question.

There is a sentence.

Everyone has their roles in each team in the Boat Race.

-> I think everyone is singular, so their roles should be changed into role... but am I right?
I wonder if this sentence is grammatically correct.

I have one more question. Can I put "own" between "their" and "roles" to change it into "their own role(s)" ?

Thank you in advance!

No. What matters is how many roles each person has. If everyone has only one role, then "everyone has their role...", otherwise, "Everyone has their roles..."

Yes, you can put "own" in there, though it is redundant.
