The rules of English grammar say that for repeated actions we use the present simple, but for showing the length of time we use the perfect. But what if I want to express both, which rule is more important and what tense should I use?

I work on it almost every day from 9 to 7 for three months.
I've been working on it almsot every day from 9 to 7 for three months
