Before we continue, please fix post #1. When you pasted text into the box, you lost some spaces between words. I have marked them in red. Go back to post #1, click on Edit Post, add the missing spaces, change the text back to black and click Save. Do not write a new post.

When you have changed the text back to black, please state the source of the quoted text. This is a requirement of the forum.

1. You haven't changed the text back to black in post #1.
2. Please type out the title and author of the source. We shouldn't have to click on an external link in order to find the information.

Inside the central living area, two core fitted-furniture elements that define the entrance, kitchen dining and living zones are the only interruptions to the open-plan space. What is the meaning of element here?

Title: Villa X is a Dutch house with windows that protrude inwards and outwards. Author: Alyn Griffiths.

The two "elements" or parts mentioned are the two standalone "tubes" which serve as design features - the T-shaped tube serves as built-in cabinets while the elliptical-shaped structure accomodates the fireplace, TV and storage space. They also function as space defining elements between the entrance, living, dining and kitchen areas and breaks the monotony of an otherwise minimalistic, open-planned house.
The verticality of the two projections one of which punches out of the roof provides a balance to the longish horizontal building.
