Can 'early today' be used in both tenses: present perfect and past indefinite or can it be used only past indefinite?
I have finished my work early today.
I finished my work early today.
 
I have finished my work early today.
The speaker is thinking of 'today' as still going on.
I finished my work early today.
The speaker is thinking of 'today' as being over - for example, a person arriving home from work may consider 'today' to be their working day.
