Does "high food prices" sound idiomatic?

Due to high food prices, a lot of products are less often sold.

Try:

Due to high food prices, a lot of products are selling less well.

Due to the high price of bacon, less bacon is being sold.

Are you trying to say that there are some specific foodstuffs that don't sell well because they cost a lot?
Or are you saying that food prices in general are high and people are going hungry rather than buying food?

The former.

If people don't buy as much of something then sellers aren't going to sell as much of it.
