Could anybody tell me what "Don't get any ideas" means?

I heard this expression in the movie, Overboard.

I'm not even sure if it is an expression but when I heard this, it sounded like he meant, "Try not to do anything stupid."

Yes, that is what it means - don't think of any funny ideas or don't let your imagination run wild.
