Some people say that marriage is obsolete and unnecessary in modern times. However, there are still people who believe that marriage has a vital role in society.

First of all, marriage is the promiseof a stable and loyal relationship between two people. This commitment is made in front of others and, for some people, this is a guarantee that cannot be easily broken. For that reason, many people prefer to make that important step in their relationship and receive the assurance of lifelong love and happiness.

The second reason why marriage still has a place in modern society is due to the legal benefits that it brings with itself. For example, marital tax deduction and the fact that two married persons create an economic partnership, presumed under the law, are a small part of the benefits for married couples. The legal financial benefits are a serious reason why marriage will not die out soon.

There are others, especially younger ones people, who claim that marriage does not give an extra guarantee for couples’ relationships. What is more, some of them believe that a piece of paper does not prove anything and it is not a reason for two people to grow old together. Marriage is not considered something necessary for a fulfilling life.

To summarise, marriage still has its supporters in modern society. Despite the disapproval which some people show when it comes to marriage, there are still members of our society who believe that this commitment is a promise for a long-lasting relationship and, in addition, an action which brings with itself a plenty of legal benefits. That is why I think that marriage still has a future in our society and it is not dying out.

I wrote another essay on the same topic. Would you look at this one and would you tell what you think about it? Did I answered the question? What about my grammar? Thank you in advance!
