Does marriage have a future in our society, or is it dying out? Support your opinion drawing on your personal experience, your observation of others, or your reading.
Some people say that marriage is something obsolete and unnecessary in modern days. However, there are still people who believe that marriage has vital role in society for many reasons.
First of all, marriage is a promise for a stable and loyal relationship between two persons. This commitment is made in front of many people and for some humans this is a guarantee that cannot be broken so easily. For that reason, many people prefer to make that important step in their relationship and receive an assurance for lifelong love and happiness.
The second reason why marriage still has a place in modern society is that sometimes is not a commitment only between two individuals but also between them and their child or children. Marriage is very important for people and their offspring in normative aspect. Marriage guarantees the children’s rights related to family property, for instance. In addition, the official commitment between two human beings ensures that they will fulfill the responsibility they have for their children’s education and well-being.
On the other hand, there are people, especially some of the young ones, who claim that marriage does not give extra guarantee for couples’ relationships. What is more, some of them believe that a piece of paper does not prove anything and it is not a reason for two people to grow old together. Marriage is not considered something necessary for fulfilling life.
To summarise, marriage still has its supporters in modern society. Despite the disapproval which some people show when it comes to marriage, there are still members of our society who believe that this commitment is a promise for a long-lasting relationship and a guarantee for their children security. That is why marriage has future in our society.
