Hi everyone,
What is the difference between 'mount' and 'install' in technical English?
Thanks

Have you looked them up in a dictionary?

Yes, and I don't see any difference between them. When I translate texts, other interpreters always correct me and say that I confuse these terms, but none of them can crealy explain to me what the difference is. So I thought that native speakers might help me.

Hi,

From what I gather about "install" (#1) and "mount" (#6), the difference would be, basically that "install" refers to wiring or making the connections in order for something to work, while "mount" implies attaching or fixing something firmly to a support or specific area. So first you would mount something, then proceed to install it.
