This is an entry from my diary. Please check it and correct any mistakes.

Last week we bought some plants, and we will not buy new ones until March because it will get cold from next month, and it's hard for seedlings to survive the winter. Also, we don't receive direct sunlight in the autumn and winter, so plants will grow slower than usual. After lots of trials, I decided not to buy succulents anymore because they die easily. Instead, foliage plants are my favourite now.

Last week we bought some plants. We won't be getting any more until March because of the weather. Not only is it hard for seedlings to survive the winter, but we don't receive direct sunlight in the autumn and winter, so plants grow slower. After lots of trials, I decided to not buy succulents anymore because they're hard to maintain. (They keep dying on me.) Instead, foliage plants are my favorites.

Neither "and' nor "but" works in the first sentence.

Thanks @emsr2d2

I'd say:

"We won't buy any more until March because it's going to start getting colder from October."
"After a lot of failed attempts, I've decided not to try and grow succulents anymore."
