This is an entry from my diary. Please check it and correct any mistakes.

Last night, I watched an exciting Olympic gold medal match for table tennis. The Sweden player used a hexagonal racket which I'd never seen before. I wonder if the racket was better than a usual one. He won the first game but lost 4-1 to Fan in the end. Another player I appreciate is Harimoto, who also did a good game with Fan. Although he lost the match, I believe he will come back much stronger next time.

Perhaps:

Last night I watched an exciting Olympic gold medal match (table tennis).

And:

The Swedish player used a hexagonal racket (which I'd never seen before).

And:

I wonder if it's better than the usual one.

Say:

He had a good game with Fan.

Or:

He played well against Fan.

Is Fan Chinese?

I'd open with "Last night, I watched the Olympic table tennis final". If it's the final, we know it's the game/match that will decide who wins the gold medal.
