This is an entry from my diary. Please check it and correct any mistakes.

I bought a watermelon today. That was the sweetest watermelon I've ever eaten. I put it in the refrigerator to ice it. I haven't eaten any sweet strawberries nowadays. Even if they look red and big, they are completely tasteless. The ones I had were sweet was when I was a child.

See above. If you want to use "nowadays", you need the simple present: I don't eat strawberries nowadays.
