Details ‘of’ or ‘on’ how to register

Hi,

I am struggling to understand the difference between ‘of’ and ‘on’ in the following context:

’Speak to a member of the team for more information or details of/on how to register’.

I see the variation often but I am finding it difficult to understand the difference.

We get the details of something. We get information on something.
