Is this correct?

"Technology has been becoming popular"
 
It's a highly unnatural sentence. I wouldn't use it.
 
Is this correct?


"Technology has been becoming popular"
As it is, it's grammatically correct but I can't come up with any context where the sentence would work. Do you have more context for us to work with? The biggest problem is the use of "become" in its progressive form.
 
I see no problem with it. It would be a perfectly good response to "Can you name some things that have been becoming [more] popular in the last few years?"
