Creative writing - Tools/Schools/Guides?

Hello,
I want to write/translate my poetry and short stories in English. Can you recommend me some guides, tutorials, courses on the matter? Or some tools that can help me improve my writing? I'm aware that English in creative writing is different from common English in sense of metaphors, idioms and sometimes even the structure of the sentences/lines...
Are there any particular rules, how-tos, how-not-tos?...
I know that there are creative writing courses but even online, I can't afford them. :-(
What do you say I should do?
