I'd have said A, B and D are all possible.

As far as D is concerned, your answer matches the key. The difference between your answer and the key is that you chose A, "stylistic", while the key says B, "narrative".

I'm guessing that the people who set this question believe that style is not of primary importance in creative writing (though I'm not sure I agree completely). They probably mean that creative writing is meant to improve your descriptive abilities, and your narrative ability is important in describing something new or creative.

And usually there is nothing to narrate them.

I disagree with you there. "Narrative" refers to how you narrate or explain something.

You can say 'develop one's style', but not 'develop one's stylistic technique'.

I think style is broader than a technique, encompassing all of your writing, while narrative and descriptive writing are parts.
