Coursebook for A1 level for Academic Purposes

Hi all!

Can someone recommend me a coursebook for an adult beginner in ESL, but with academic vocabulary?
She doesn't want to learn general lexis typical for a beginner level and not interested in topics like travel, lifestyle, food etc

I don't think that's a good idea. If she really is a beginner, she needs some basic general language first.
