[Grammar] Conditional if clause exception - two sentences

Are there exceptions to conditional if-clause?
For instance when are two different sentences:
"What if the future brings me bad news? Will I still like to hear it?"
Is it correct?

That's OK. There is no exception to anything there. A sentence introduced by 'What if' is self-contained. It has the idea of 'What (will/would happen) if ..'.
