Clothes - countable or uncountable

Hi,

If I have to say "many clothes" then "clothes" must be countable, correct?

If I have to say "are there any clothes" and not "is there any clothes" the it must be uncountable, correct?

Can anyone tell me if "clothes" is a countable or uncountable noun?

It's a plural noun.

If I have to say "are there any clothes/" and not "is there any clothes/" then it must be uncountable, correct? No. The word 'clothes' is plural - that is why the verb form is 'are'.

'Clothes ' - countable, plural.

It just happens that there is no singular form of this word. We can't talk about 'one clothe'; we have to say 'one item of clothing'. We usually name the item instead - 'one shirt'.
