"Chaser" I guess it's not necessarily a weaker alcoholic drink. I've heard a lot that it might be just a drink you chase down an alcoholic one with. It doesn't matter if it's acoholic or non-alcoholic.

I've only heard it to refer to a beer following a shot of whiskey (or some other hard liquor).

So you can't use it for a non-alcoholic drink? What would you call a non-alcoholic drink you chase down an alcoholic one with?

A chaser.

So it's for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks?
Yes. As Soothing Dave has said, it often refers to beer, but it can also be water, ginger ale, etc.
