Does this sentence make sense?
Does it mean that they run 24 hours a day or that they run only during the day not at night?
 
"Buses generally run during the day no comma here in New York."
Does this sentence make sense?
Does it mean that they run 24 hours a day or that they run only during the day, not at night?
Note my punctuation changes above. Try to find the quotation marks symbol on your keyboard - don't use two apostrophes.
 
''Buses generally run during the day, in New York.''
It suggests they do not run at night.

'Generally' however does allow for the possibility that their might be some very limited bus service at night, just not the typical full service network.
