Break up with or break up on

Usually i use "break up with somebody", is it appropriate to use "break up on somebody"? If yes, could you tell me the difference?

In the (telephone) conversation you've given, "breaking up" means that the phone line has a fault in it, or static. "You're breaking up on me" means "your voice is coming and going" and has nothing to do with ending a relationship with someone (which is what the other term means).
