Hi everybody! Can someone help me please? I'm translating a text from English into Italian and I would like to know if there is any difference between blueberries and bilberries. I can't find a proper solution for this problem. Thnak you in advance for your kind attention.

I have never heard of bilberries before. Where are they found?

:)

Click here to read about bilberries. They are commonly smaller than blueberries and more acidic.

They mainly grow wild — unlike blueberries, which are cultivated.

Thank you very much! Is there a possible translation in Italian that could highlight such a difference? Because here we have just "mirtilli" with no substantial difference between the two types.

Blueberries are native to North America, bilberries are native to Europe. The former are cultivated, the latter are not and are usually harvested wild. They belong to the same Genus of plants.

Does mirtilli selvatico sound resonable for bilberries?

Yes, mirtilli selvatici is the correct translation for bilberries, and, adjective agreeing with the noun, in number and gender.
