Best book on Functional uses of various grammar points

I'm looking for a book that will illustrate the different functional uses of various grammar points. For example, I want to teach my students about Relative Clauses. But I would also want to tell them about what ways these are used. Is there a book for teachers or students - not too technical - that does this? Thanks.

Have you seen Michael Swan's Practical English Usage (OUP)- it mixes grammar with descriptions of use. It's a standard book, but a very useful one for teachers and students.

Thanks, I have that book and will take a look. I was thinking of a book more for students - that's more practical for students but I will take a look at that book.
