Hi,

I read this sentence:

During the riots, the nighttime patrol force was beefed up with volunteers.

How do you pronounce "beefed"? Is it "t" or "d"?

In my dialect the d is vocalized clearly because of the following vowel. In the unlikely event that there was no next word starting with a vowel there would be very little difference between beefed and beeft.

You mean in this sentence, it's "....dup" not "....tup"? Am I right?

Yes, it's 'dup' not 'tup'.

It's /d/ to my British ears.
