Hi.

I am trying to translate how to cook a pancake. There are some steps. One step is to stir eggs virgorously then add flour. I wrote "Beat the eggs before you add the flour".

Is my italic sentence natural?

It would be natural in many contexts, but you might want to read some other recipes to get a sense of the conventions their writers typically follow.

I agree with GoesStation. The steps in a recipe are usually laid out as a list. The two steps you described would be given as two separate instructions.

1. Beat the eggs.
2. Add the flour.

Beat the eggs, then add flour.

Usually the recipe would tell you how long you need to beat the eggs or until what stage.
