Hello.

I was looking for an idiom which means to "use a person's mistake or weakness constantly to humiliate them and put them down."

I found "a stick to beat someone over the head". Have I used it correctly and naturally in these sentences?

1. He made some mistakes with his ex wife. She used his previous relationships as a stick to beat him over the head with.

2. Her mother always used her past mistakes as a stick to beat her over the head with.

3. His gaffe at the party will be used as a stick to beat him over the head with.

4. The accident was his fault. He knows his siblings will use it as a stick to beat him over the head with.

They're OK.

Isn't his ex-wife pretty much out of the picture?

She rubs his nose in them.
