Correct my sentences plz.

Based on the behaviour exhibited by this motor, we can extrapolate that it will continue functioning flawlessly for the next five years. This means, its working power can be fully exploited over that span of time.
 
Perhaps:

Based on the performance of this motor ....
 
We normally reserve the word behavior for humans, dogs, cats, bears, lions, giraffes, ostriches, etc.

Would the sentence remain grammatical if I write "continue to function"? If so, would the meaning change?
