Hi.

These days there are many bad news. There's an outbreak in Beijing and the number of people infected is increasing. Today, it is said that many other places have reported cases affiliated to cases in Beijing.

I wonder if it's natural to say "Bad news keeps welling up".

I would say "related".

I think "well up" is used with liquids and emotions (figuratively).
How about "when it rains, it pours"?

The situation is a little too serious to use such a light-hearted expression.
