Keeping awake.

Sounds like in this sentence awake is acting like an adverb, But in dictionary awake is an adjective what are your thougts on this.

It's not a complete sentence. If you were in the midst of a long, tiring drive and someone asked How are you doing?, you might answer Staying awake. This is an abbreviated version of "I'm staying awake", where awake is an adjective and staying could, I think, be analyzed as an adverb.

Keeping awake.

Sounds like in this sentence awake is acting like an adverb, But in dictionary awake is an adjective what are your thoughts on this.

"Awake" is an adjective in, for example, "I'm keeping awake by drinking coffee", where it functions as subjective predicative complement of "be".
