I would like to know why the word "attack" is pronounced attack when the double "tt" comes between two vowels and why the word "little" is pronounced liddle when there is only one vowel that is "i" before "tt" and after it there is "l."

I am confused!

Have you been taught this as a rule?

The pronunciation rule you describe works for American English when /tt/ comes between two vowel sounds and the second vowel is unstressed. Little has an unstressed schwa sound after the /tt/, so the /tt/ is reduced to a /d/. The second syllable of attack is stressed, so we retain the /tt/ sound.

No, I haven't.
