Which sentence sounds more natural?
1) As soon as soup was eaten, fish was brought.
2) As soon as the soup was eaten, the fish was brought.
 
It's hard to say, but I think with the second one you are more likely to be talking about a specific occasion.
 
I'm not sure why you're asking which form is more natural. The difference between the two is in meaning, not naturalness.
