Proponents of such artificial enhancements [for example, breeding humans without stathmin or other genes associated with fear reactions] argue that the changes may not be artificial at all. Is there even a valid distinction, they ask, between artificial and “natural” enhancements such as exercise and discipline?
(Scientific American Mind; Vol.17.N 6.; Juicing the Brain)

Would you be so kind as to tell me whether it means that exercise is considered to be an artifical enhancement and discipline a 'natural' one?

Thanks.

Both exercise and discipline are considered to be natural enhancements.
