Don't repeat sentence-ending punctuation after a quote which is itself the end of a sentence. The quoted punctuation serves to end both sentences—the quoted one and the one in which it is included. Can I ask somebody "Are you hot?" meaning "Do you feel hot?" Or would I certainly be misunderstood?
