Are they the same? I'm visiting my dad next week. I'm going to visit my dad next week.

Or are there any differences?

The first is slightly more certain.

I don't find any difference between them at. I already know for certain that I will be going to see my dad next Tuesday. If someone said to me "What are you doing next Tuesday?", my answer would be "I'm going to visit my dad" or "I'm going to my dad's".
