Are there any difference between 'numeric' and 'digit'?

"Quantities and measurements can be written with a numeric."

Does the above sentence means that I can use '3m' not 'three meter' ?

It does now. "Numeric" wasn't the right word.

Don't put a space before a question mark.

You might want to review the pronunciation of numeral and numeric. The first syllable is emphasized in the former, the second in the latter.

Hello, middleage_S!

I'm not sure if I understand your question. Would you like to ask about the difference between number and digit? Number, numeral, numeric are all slightly different (some are different parts of speech, even).

There's a mathematical difference between digits and numbers. A digit is a symbol that represents quantity. A number is made of one or more than one digits.

"12345 is a five-digit number. The digits are 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5."

It's similar to letters and words.

"example is a seven-letter word. The letters are e, x, a, m, p, l, and e again."
