What about reading aloud to practice pronunciation?

How do you improve your pronunciation?
By listening to a tape and repeating out loud.

Then, I look up ‘aloud’ in dictionary.
There are two kinds of explanation:
1.using the voice; not silently
2.with relatively high volume

I think the meaning of ‘aloud’ in above example should be the first explanation. Right?

Loud’ here is an adverb and means reading with highvolume. Right?

Can ‘aloud’ replace with ‘loud’ when express high volume?
What’s the difference between ‘loudly’ and ‘loud’ (loud used as an adverb)?
Can I say?
By listening to a tape and repeating out loud.
By listening to a tape and repeating out loudly.
By listening to a tape and repeating out aloud.

Before we continue, please edit post #1 to insert all the spaces missing between words. This occurs when you copy/cut and paste.

Aloud and out loud mean exactly the same thing. Neither means the adjective loud or the adverb loudly.

You can read a book aloud. If you have a strong voice, you can read it aloud loudly.

A stereo can be loud, but it can never be aloud. And in some places, loud stereos aren't allowed.

Thank you!
I want to make some sentences here to practice these words.
Could you point out my errors if there is mistake below?

I need to listen to the tape and repeat the key words aloud many times.
Could you speak loudly? I cannot hear your voice.
I cannot bear the loud noise from near factory.

Thank you.

I [STRIKE]want[/STRIKE] have tried to [STRIKE]make[/STRIKE] write some sentences [STRIKE]here[/STRIKE] to practice these words. Could you point out [STRIKE]my[/STRIKE] any errors [STRIKE]if there is mistake[/STRIKE] below?

1. I need to listen to the tape and repeat the key words aloud many times. :tick:

2. Could you speak loudly? I cannot hear your voice. :tick: although it would be more common to ask someone to speak "more loudly" or "louder" if you simply need them to increase the volume.

3. I cannot bear the loud noise from the nearby factory.

Please note my comments and corrections above. I have numbered your sentences so that it's easier for people to respond.

Thank you so much for your answering and correcting.
I still member what my teacher told me when I was young.
She said that mistake is one of the best ways to learn.
Thanks again!

But it's allowed.
