[Grammar] after having + past participle

Hello.

Is this sentence grammatically correct?

He decided to become a singer after having spent time with his friend who was holding concerts around the country.
 
Yes, it's correct. I don't see any problem with it. In fact, after having spent adds an extra sense of 'after-ness' that after spending does not have. Whether a sentence needs that extra after-ness is a different question.
