admitted/accepted to Harvard University

Bob has been admitted/accepted to Harvard University.

Can both verbs be used in this sentence? Thank you in advance.

I suggest you say he was accepted by Harvard. That doesn't mean he will decide to go there. Maybe he was accepted by his first choice, Harvey Mudd, as well, and will go there.
