Should I use present tense or past tense for the underlined word?

We acknowledged the receipt of your purchase order for the captioned job.

Are you trying to talk about the present or the past? Are you now acknowledging it, or referring to the act of acknowledging it which happened in the past?

The activity is completed. We received one quotation from supplier and we accepted it. I drafted mail and want to reply them for acceptance. Should I use Present or Past?

Is this the first communication to the supplier, letting them know that you have received the order? Then use "acknowledge."
