above table or table above?

Hi,
I was wondering if you can answer me a question. Which of the following should I write?
“In the table above…” or “In the above table”
My tendency is to say the former because “In the below table” sounds wrong. But is “above” in this case an adjective and so it should come before the noun (Table)?

I don`t think that there is an important difference between the 2 uses

"See the table above" only "table above"- a short phrase that sends the reader to further information on a specific topic.

In the above table one can distinguish .... - here , the phrase is more formal.

Anyway, both are correct.

yes, you are right > It sounds better :" in the table below" or in the following/subsequent /next table"
