I want to say someone felt excitement. Can I use "tickle of excitement"?

Jane sat in the corner of the room, hugging her knees. Thoughts passed through her head and after a while she found herself bored. Her phone buzzed with a message. A tickle of excitement flickered in her stomach. Maybe it's him, she thought only to be disappointed after picking up her phone and seeing her mother's name.
