Will it be(strong) instead of (stronger)

Will it be 'strong' instead of 'stronger'?
Please note my corrections to your punctuation.

And your question should have been "Should it be 'strong' ...", "Could it be 'strong' ..." or "Is it 'strong' ..." but not "Will it be ...".

You could say: A thread is much thinner than a string and not as strong.

A thread is much thinner and less strong than a string.
