Would you please correct the mistakes in my sentences, which I wrote just an exercise.

A patient's death made his family furious. They came in a large number, barging into the hospital. They broke windows, glasses, furniture and damaged the equipment. They verbally abused the staff and threatened them with beating. One could only imagine how the incident would have ended if the police didn't arrive in time. They have arrested 12 people, but two have manged to escape. The hospital staff are still in shock and they are receiving psychological help.

Perhaps:

A patient died at the hospital, and his family became enraged over it. A large group of them barged into the hospital and broke windows and furniture and damaged equipment. They verbally abused the staff and threatened them with beatings. One can only imagine what would have happened if the police hadn't arrived when they did. They arrested twelve people, but two managed to escape. The hospital staff are still in shock, and they are receiving psychological help.
