Democrats, Divided
House Democrats delayed a vote on a major infrastructure bill, a sign of divisions within the party.

Is the use of the word "bunch" informal and a bit derogatory? I am not sure. The humorous phrase "a bunch of craps" might have influenced me, in a not-so-proper way.

Considering that NYTimes strongly endorses Biden and supports Democrats, the use may be neutral and vivid. I am not sure.

It's informal, but not necessarily derogatory.
