a good grade?

She got a good grade in her English exam last week.

I’d like to know if I my using of “a good grade” is correct above.
 
I would say:

She received a good grade for her English exam last week.
 
I too much prefer for over in.

The word grade is only right if that's what is meant (A, B, C, etc.).
 
In American English she got a good grade on her English exam.
 
I am happy with the original.
 
I'd use "in" as my first choice, then "on", and "for" as my least favourite.
