Use article such as 'a' only if, it is followed by a word starting with constant letters and use 'an' if followed by vowels. :-D
 
Use the article [STRIKE]such as[/STRIKE] 'a' only if it is followed by a word starting with a consonant* and use 'an' if followed by a vowel[STRIKE]s[/STRIKE]. :-D

*Unless the word begins with an unaspirated h, such as hour and honour.

Also if it starts with a "y" sound, as in "European", "a European" not "an European".
