A durian has sweet fruit / fruits.

Which noun should I use?

Thanks.

Sweet? Have you tasted one? They are banned from some places because they smell of rotting flesh. I have tasted the dried version and it was one of the most disgusting experiences of my life!

A durian is a fruit, it doesn't have fruit.
I am referring to the seeds in the durian. What should I call them? Seeds, but then it implies the fleshy parts of the seeds are missing. I am at a loss.

If you are referring to the seeds, then the fleshy part is irrelevant.

OK, so here is a durian fruit cut in half.

But 5jj says that it should be seeds and that the fleshy part is irrelevant.

It is irrelevant if you are talking about the seeds, as you said you were. If both the fleshy part and the seeds are edible, and you wish to talk about the edible part, then don't mention just the seeds.

But if you have it fresh, in South China, with cream, it's divine. Considered an aphrodisiac as well.

It's perfect- it doesn't need anything other than tissues to clean the fingers afterwards IMO.

No, the seeds are not edible. They cannot be eaten. Only the flesh surrounding the seeds is edible. It just came to my mind that I should use "fleshy seeds". Does it make sense?

Thanks.

No, not at all.

I don't know why you mentioned the seeds in the first place if they are not edible.

If you can't eat the seeds, there's no point describing them as "fleshy". That's a useful description only if you're going to put them in your mouth.

A durian is a sweet fleshy fruit with inedible seeds.

The seeds are large and hard- you wouldn't eat them. They're quite a bit bigger than peach stones.
