A country that has lost its national identity would appear to be the same as any other country.

1. Did I use "to be the same as" correctly?
2. Are there better phrases to use?
3. Is the use of "would" in this sentence grammatical?

I would omit "to be".

If all countries appear different, due to their individual national identities, a country that loses its national identity shouldn't look like any other country at all.
